Milena Aboyan

Milena Aboyan was born in 1992 in Armenia to a Kurdish Yezidi family. In 2010, she moved to Germany to begin a four-year acting program, during which she performed in several theatre productions. After earning her acting diploma, she shifted her focus to filmmaking and studied Screenwriting and Directing at the Film Academy Baden-Württemberg. Her graduation feature film Elaha was selected for the Perspektive Deutsches Kino section of the 73rd Berlin International Film Festival (Berlinale). The following year, Elaha was nominated for the German Film Award in the category Best Feature Film. For her work, Aboyan has received numerous honors, including the New Faces Award, the NDR Young Talent Award, and the MFG Star Award.
